About Us
Vancouver Gaymers is Vancouver's largest social group for LGBTQ+ geeks and gamers.
Formed in 2009, we've been meeting regularly to play games and hold social events together. Our group has since grown into the biggest LGBTQ+ focused gaming group in Vancouver, with hundreds of members united by our love of gaming and geek culture. We hold regular gaming events that offer a safe space for LGBT people to be themselves.
Alongside our regular events, our group has organised a number of one-off special events, such as trips to Whistler Pride, PAX, Gen Con and other local activities such as bowling, karaoke, social nights and much, much more!
Vancouver Gaymers runs events for all LGBTQ+ people and their allies in the Vancouver area. We are an unincorporated club with a board of directors who are elected at our Annual General Meeting and a team of community volunteers who help us run events. Membership of Vancouver gaymers is optional and nobody needs to be a member to join our events, however joining is free and has a number of benefits. Andre
Vice PresidentPronouns: They/Them/Theirs
Andre started attending Vancouver Gaymers events in 2013, and became a volunteer in 2021 hosting online Among Us nights. They later joined the Board as a Director At Large, moderating the newly-formed WNBT subgroup in 2022. They were nominated and then elected as Vice President in 2023.
Andre plays board games and video games, with a strong affinity toward video games. Game genres Andre likes include Survival (Minecraft, Terraria), RPGs (Pokémon, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy XIV, Baldur’s Gate 3), and life sims (Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley)
Dan Kiwi
TreasurerPronouns: He/Him/His
Dan is the Treasurer of Vancouver Gaymers, and the in-person venue host for Demonware monthly game events (currently on hold).
He's originally from New Zealand, but has been part of Vancouver Gaymers since his arrival in early 2017. He plays both board and video games. On PC, he plays Overwatch, sim/builder games (Surviving Mars, Factorio, Dyson Sphere Project) and RPGs (Divinity 2: Original Sin).
For board games, he likes worker placement and strategy, as well as social deduction and casual games.
